Welcome to aumhaa.

You’ve found yourself at amounra’s blog about Monomodular (a.k.a Mod), a place to discuss the progress of a set of musical programming and performance tools written to be used in conjunction with Ableton Live, MaxMSP, and various different types of hardware controllers.

If you’d like to know what it’s all about, please visit the wiki page for more information.

If you’d like access to these tools, please download them from our GitHub repository (there’s a link to the right).

If you’d like to check on the status of the current build, or just read some of the meanderings and ravings of their creator, James Westfall, then read on (at your own risk, of course).

If you’re interested in getting some custom work done for your controller, please drop me a message!

  1. Hi there,
I’ve been on board with all this awesome stuff for a couple of years now, and I’ve been keeping an eye on github, and noticed some new additions lately. My question is, is b996 with the new mod selection technique(no more mod numbers) functional right now, with a launchpad. I’m still using b995 everyday, I would just love to try the new method.

Side note, I noticed the latest modlink is displaying apps on my launchpad upside down. I tried boing from monome.org the other day and the balls were bouncing up to the top of my launchpad.

Anyway, as always this fucking shit is the best keep up the awesome work.

    • Hey James!

Glad some one is keeping an eye out ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’ve been making really good progress lately, and currently most of the stuff for b996 is working in Base, AumPush, and Codec. I’m trying to fold the code up a bit, but I’ll be pushing out some major changes to the repo as time allows over the next several weeks. Launchpad will definitely be updated soon, but it’s I haven’t ported it to b996 yet.

Thanks for the heads up about modlink….I swear, it’s always something with that. I’ll check it out.

Thanks for the kudos, as always…just a little bit longer now, and things are going to be that much cooler ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Hi,

i’ve used the livid_codegriid (http://wiki.lividinstruments.com/wiki/Code%2BGriid_Ableton_Live_Remote_Script) remote script for several weeks but now live has updated to 9.1.2 and the script stops working.
i’ve just switch to your monomodular script (the b996) but it looks quite strange in mod 3 (i can’t properly lock devices to the row)…

anyway i’ve loved that livid_codegriid auto map on sends (like b996) but also on autofilter and eq3. do you think is quite easy for me to adapt you b996 to work like that?

thanks for all your work, your posts and the resources you share!

    best

    • It wouldn’t be too hard to incorporate the autofilter/eq controls on a page of the Codec script….you’d need to know some Python, though. Hit me up again if you want to pursue it.

  3. hi dude any chance of pointing me what I need to download for the Livid block controller and live 9.2.I realise I have to do a manual install .I was finding the Github a little confusing.
    Thanks Rik

  4. Hello,
I tried to use monomodular with my Apc20 and the actual version of Ableton Live (9.7.1.) on OSX Sierra. I figured out to that I have to install it manually but can’t get it to work.
Can I use monomodular in my current setup?
Also is there a forum with discussions on your “live extensions”?
    Greetings Moe

    • I’m afraid that the APC20 implementation is pretty hopelessly out of date. I don’t have one at my disposal any more, so I don’t plan on updating it, but it DID work the last time I checked it. Feel free to email me directly with any questions, I’m afraid I haven’t posted anything here lately so the place is kind of dead (although I am still maintaining this stuff, as well as working on new material!).

  5. Never thought I would get a reply that fast. I want to try it an other time in the next days. It seems like you was the only guy working on an apc20 monomer emulator.
Where can I find your mail-address, would be nice to could ask you a few things? I think I am blind, can’t find it on your website and I don’t have twitter.
One of the questions would be which of the Remote Scripts I have to copy in live folders if I use the actual version of Max and Live?

  6. Hi !
